What is the Humpback Highway?
The Humpback Highway is the main route for whale to migrate to and from Eua. It also has a seamount where the whales stop to play and this Seamount is fortunately less than a kilometer from the Blue Water Retreat making for consistent and daily whale sightings from the Blue Water Retreat.
Eua, where the whales are
The Blue Water Retreat is conveniently located in front of the Humpback Highway.
The Humpback Highway sees the humpback whales pass by and frolic from early June till early December each year providing unique whale watching and whale swimming opportunities

What guests Say About Us
In July I had the pleasure to stay in the Blue Water Retreat as one of the participants from the whale swimming expeditions with Adam. I expected a basic stay since it’s such a small, quiet island, but the room was very comfortable, the food delicious and nutritious and the staff was nothing less than wonderful. Paul, Brownie, the skippers, the guides, the kitchen crew, … Everyone went out of their way to ensure a great service and I just wanted to express my gratitude this way. Hope to make it back some day!

Our stay at the Blue Water Retreat over New Years was fantastic. Kaylie and Tomasi are great hosts, they are very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate all of our requests and preferences, the Island tour was very informative and the kids loved the natural water slide. The location included a stunning view looking out over the ocean. The meals were delicious with plenty of food and options available. I would highly recommend a visit.

Our 2023 adventure at the Blue Water Retreat was extraordinary. We had lots of amazing interactions with whales, learned a lot from their experienced team about safe and respectful ways of swimming with the whales. See you next year guys.
